'Girl of the Year' honored in Concord
CONCORD — Girls Inc. Concord has named Grace Milliken ”Girl of the Year” for Girls Inc. of Concord.
The Girl of the Year is selected from among all the girls voted as a “Girl of the Month” during the year, and is interviewed by a panel of local businesswomen. The Girl of the Year must demonstrate leadership qualities and an understanding of the Girls Inc. motto, “Strong, Smart and Bold.”
Milliken, who has been attending Girls Inc.for five years, impressed the panelists with her poise and kindness. She talked about trying to help other girls work through problems and her mother being her role model because she “works hard and volunteers.”
