Claremont home damaged by fire

CLAREMONT— Fire damaged a two-story home on 42nd Street Thursday afternoon, according to Claremont Fire Chief Richard Bergeron said.

Bergeron said the fire was found in an area between the home’s first and second floors and was beginning to extend to a storage room before firefighters brought it under control. The fire’s cause was a failed armored electrical cable, he said.

The home had minor fire damage and smoke and water damage to both floors, he said. There were no injuries and damage was estimated at $15,000, Bergeron said.
