Cold weather keeps the slopes in play
GORHAM — Wildcat Ski area in Pinkham Notch returned its snow guns to operation the past few days, as did Loon Mountain in Lincoln, as temperatures allowed for some very late- season trail improvements.
Groomers, which were not able to be used during the warmth of last weekend, were also deployed at those few ski areas which are either open or plan to reopen for a final weekend, Saturday.
Waterville Valley announced it would offer free skiing now through April 1 on more than 20 trails which remain open.
Bretton Woods plans to reopen for the weekend and still host its spring festivities on Saturday.
