Man caught in act of burglarizing Weare business

WEARE - Police arrested a Manchester man they found burglarizing Route 77 Motors early Wednesday morning, according to a police press release.

Just after 2 a.m., a burglar alarm sounded at the 711 Concord Stage Road business, bringing Officers Kenneth Cox and Kim McSweeney to the scene.

When they arrived, they heard a commotion inside the service garage area. McSweeney covered the front of the building while Cox went to the rear.

A rear door had been forced open and when Cox entered the building he saw a man rummaging through tools and supplies. The burglar, identified by police as Shane St. Onge, 33, of 145 Blaine St., tried to hide but police quickly caught and arrested him.

Police said St. Onge had money on him belonging to 77 Motors.

The office, security surveillance equipment and phone lines also were damaged in the incident.

St. Onge was arraigned Wednesday in 9th Circuit – District Division – Milford on charges of . He is being held on $2,500 cash bail in the Valley Street jail in Manchester.

Police are investigating whether others were involved in the burglary.
