Manchester police arrest man in GPS theft incident
MANCHESTER - A man who allegedly tried to sell another man's stolen GPS device back to him, then tried to knock him down with a car, was arrested Monday by city police.
Lt. Michael Hurley said Andrew Cuthbertson, 42, of Nashua, discovered his GPS device was stolen, then found a listing for it on the website Craigslist. Cuthbertson contacted the seller, who turned out to be Kyle Ramalho, 24, of 24 Pullard Drive, Hooksett, and agreed to meet him at the Dunkin' Donuts location on Candia Road about 5 p.m. Monday, Hurley said.
Cuthbertson matched the serial number on the GPS device as the same as his and told Ramalho it had been stolen from him, Hurley said. Ramalho, whose car door was open with Cuthbertson standing behind it, then put the car in reverse to try to knock over Cuthbertson, he said.
Cuthbertson fell into the car and fought with Ramalho, and twice was able to put the car into "park" during the struggle, according to police. He then wrestled Ramalho out of the car and had him pinned to the ground when New Hampshire State Police Capt. John Lelacheur pulled into the lot.
Police said they found a number of other electronic items, believed to be stolen, inside Ramalho's car including Cuthbertson's DVD player. Manchester police are trying to determine the owners of the other property.
Ramalho is charged with reckless conduct, receiving stolen property, and violating bail conditions set in a prior case out of 9th Circuit Court, Manchester District Division.
