Two charged in Berlin credit union robbery

November 16. 2011 10:04PM
BERLIN - Two city residents have been arrested on robbery-related charges involving the Monday holdup of the Guardian Angel Credit Union, police said Wednesday.

Authorities arrested Daniel Ray Hufstetler, 32, and Sheena Craig, 29, both of 36 High St. The two were arrested on Route 16 in Gorham. Hufstetler was charged with armed robbery; Craig was charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

Police said the arrests followed publicity of information about the robbery and images of the robber taken from the credit union's video surveillance cameras. The publicity generated numerous tips, police said.

'The significance of the assistance of the general public cannot be overstated in bringing the investigation to this point,' Berlin police said in a press release issued Wednesday.

Police said they received assistance from the FBI, New Hampshire State Police, Gorham Police, the Coos County Sheriff Department and the New Hampshire Drug Task Force.
