Police say driver in Goffstown crash may have been distracted

GOFFSTOWN — A motorist was sent to the hospital Wednesday night after a head-on collision on Daniel Plummer Road, an accident that police said could have been caused by driver inattention.

Goffstown resident Brandon Vaillancourt, 16, was ticketed for negligent driving after his Oldsmobile Ciera crossed the center line and slammed into an Oldsmobile Bravada, said Goffstown police Sgt. Keith Chauvette.

The Bravada was driven by Nicholas Gagnon, 20, of Goffstown. Goffstown Fire Department had to cut a young passenger out of the car and transport him to a local hospital.

Chauvette said speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors. He said Vaillancourt may have been distracted by a cellular telephone.
