- The Seacoast Science Center says it is offering an action-packed, nine-day eco-adventure trip to the Azores next year.
The center is taking reservations from families and individuals for the trip, which will take place from April 20 to 28.
The Azores, a nine-island archipelago in the mid-Atlantic about 875 miles west of its Portuguese homeland, are characterized by dramatic landscapes, fishing villages and green pastures.
On this trip, the center says, travelers will discover the islands' natural and social history and gain a better understanding of how the ocean has shaped communities across globe.
This trip will feature adventures on land and sea, from kayaking crater lakes and whale watching on São Miguel to hiking dormant volcanoes on Faial Island and walking through Azorean Wine Country, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
"Participants will swim, bike, kayak, hike, zip-line, surf and raft through some of the most incredible scenery in the world and explore three different islands," the center wrote.
All activities and accommodations are included in the nine-day itinerary.
