Manchester street fight leaves two hospitalized

May 11. 2014 9:42PM

MANCHESTER _ A fight between two men escalated when several friends joined in before two ended up at the hospital Sunday night, police said.

Manchester police Sgt. Craig Rousseau said officers were called around 6:45 to the fight near the intersections of Beech and Manchester streets.

Rousseau said one man was stabbed in the leg and another hit his head on the pavement. Both were taken to Elliot Hospital with injuries that were not considered to be life threatening. Their names were not released.

Police were talking to witnesses and searching for the other men involved in the fight, which grew to six to eight people, Rousseau said.

“We’re still in the process of trying to talk to everybody,” Rousseau said. “A lot of people involved in the fight itself and the stabbing fled the scene.”
