NASHUA — Police say a man was hospitalized after overdosing on heroin Sunday night at a residence on East Pearl Street.
The victim, who is expected to survive, was transported to Southern New Hampshire Regional Medical Center.
Meanwhile, police said another man who may have been present during the overdose allegedly tried to hide the drugs from authorities.
City police arrested Michael Cunningham, 26, of 9 Pinedale Ave., Hudson, on a felony charge of falsifying physical evidence. Police allege that Cunningham concealed a baggie containing heroin in an attempt to hide it from officers following the overdose.
Cunningham has a history of arrests in southern New Hampshire. In the fall of 2012, Windham police arrested him as a habitual offender and for alleged drug possession. In 2009, Nashua police charged Cunningham with two counts of the illegal sale of Oxycontin.
He is being held on $2,500 cash or surety bail on the most recent charge and is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday at the 9th Circuit Court, Nashua District Division.
If convicted, Cunningham could face up to seven years in prison, police said.
