Contoocook man, 72, dies in Concord accident

CONCORD _ The driver of a sport-utility vehicle died after crashing into a tree on Monday.

Police say the Ford Explorer was the only vehicle involved in the accident around 11:15 a.m., near the intersection of Horse Hill and Runnells roads. The driver was taken to Concord Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver was a 72-year-old man from Contoocook. His name was not released as police tried to notify relatives.

Horse Hill Road was closed for nearly four hours while inspectors were on the scene.
