This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Tuesday, July 2.

A fish crow was reported from Laconia on June 28.

An evening grosbeak was seen along Eaton Road in Swanzey on June 29, and two were reported from Freedom on the 24.

Six whippoorwills, a common nighthawk, and a vesper sparrow were all reported from the Ossipee Pine Barrens on June 24.

A pair of merlins nesting in Ashland appears to be feeding at least one chick.

A pair of nesting American kestrels feeding chicks was reported from along Route 113 in North Chatham on June 28.

At least 10 black-billed cuckoos were reported during the past week from several locations, including Lisbon, Orford, Rumney, Freedom, Effingham, Madison, Ashland, and Peterborough, and at least five yellow-billed cuckoos were reported during the past week from several locations, including Conway, Freedom, and Eaton.

A yellow-bellied flycatcher was reported from Elbow Pond in Woodstock on July 1.

An immature double-crested cormorant was seen on Lily Lake in Piermont on July 1.
