Man armed with club robs Manchester market

MANCHESTER - A man armed with a club robbed Bunny's Superette Monday night, taking off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police said about 9 p.m., a man wielding a club entered the 75 Webster St. store, approached the counter and demanded money.

Frustrated when the clerks had trouble opening one of the registers, the man repeatedly slammed the club down on the counter and at various displays. He also threatened to shoot the clerks if they didn't hand over the cash, although police said no gun was shown.

The robber is described as a white man in his 40s, about 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-8 with a medium build. He wore a navy blue jacket, blue jeans and white sneakers as well as blue rubber gloves and an olive-colored fishing-style hat with tan stripes. He had black nylon covering his face.
