Keene police ask public's help finding owner of pit bull that attacked therapy dog

September 20. 2018 4:47PM

KEENE — Police are searching for the owner of a pit bull terrier that badly injured a chocolate Labrador therapy dog earlier this month.

The attack took place about 3:18 p.m. Sept. 8 in the area between Dick’s Sporting Goods and Target in the Monadnock Marketplace.

Police say both dogs were leashed and being walked by their owners, both women, when the pit bull attacked the Labrador. The Labrador suffered numerous bite injuries before a passerby intervened and separated the animals.

The Labrador’s owner rushed her dog to a veterinarian and did not get information from the owner of the pit bull.
