Tractor trailer crashes into tree in Rochester

ROCHESTER - A tractor trailer unit was significantly damaged Friday evening after it rolled away from a loading dock at Laars Heating on Industrial Way, striking a tree in a nearby wooded area.

Police said Sheldon Francis, 42, had been operating the truck for the heating company. According to a news release, Francis said he had parked the vehicle at the loading dock and had gone inside the company building when the accident occurred.

According to the release, police believe that the parking brake was not engaged at the time.

No one was injured in the 5:40 p.m. accident, and officials cleaned up an oil spill that had occurred, Rochester police officials said.
