Three-car Epsom crash snarls rush-hour traffic

December 15. 2017 10:03PM

EPSOM — A three-car accident on Dover Road right at rush hour Friday caused heavy tie-ups, police said.

Authorities confirmed that Dover Road, also known as Route 4, was closed for nearly an hour after the 5 p.m. crash, as were both Routes 202 and 9.

The accident scene was near the intersection with New Orchard Road, close to the Suncook River Veterinary Clinic and the New Hampshire Campground Owners Association buildings.

State transportation officials confirmed Route 4 had been closed between Black Hall and Center Hill roads and would remain closed until 9 p.m. Thursday.

The crash remained under investigation. It was unclear whether there were people injured at the scene though there were no outward calls from area emergency medical departments for ambulances to come to the scene right after the accident.

Police said the accident led to a large backup of traffic.
