Nashua man facing charges in domestic assault

NASHUA — A city man was arrested Thursday on felony and misdemeanor counts of assault and domestic violence after police accused him of injuring a woman Oct. 9.

Alexander Rivera-Aponte, 35, no fixed address, was charged with second-degree assault and second-degree assault - domestic violence, both Class B felonies, as well as one count each of simple assault and domestic violence, each a Class A misdemeanor, police said.

Rivera-Aponte was arrested about 7:25 p.m. Thursday, police said, after a woman reported she had been assaulted by him Oct. 9, causing serious injuries to her face.

Rivera-Aponte was held on $50,000 cash bail pending arraignment Friday in Hillsborough County Superior Court South.
