Manchester police raid city apartment, arrest two on drug charges

MANCHESTER — A Manchester police drug raid of a Summer Street apartment Friday morning yielded a large quantity of fentanyl, nearly $10,000 in cash and the arrest of two city residents.

Manchester police SWAT and the Special Enforcement Division carried out the search warrant at 575 Summer St., Apt. 2, during the early morning hours.

Jose Sanchez, 42, of 219 Belmont St., and Melissa Gazaway, 30, of 378 Wilson St., were arrested at the scene, officials said.

Sanchez was charged with felony drug possession and possession of a narcotic with the intent to sell.

Gazaway was charged with sale of a narcotic.

Both will be arraigned in Hillsborough County Superior Court North on the charges.

A search of the apartment uncovered 251 grams of fentanyl, 6 tables of clonazepam, a .9 mm handgun, a fentanyl/heroin finger press and associated tools for drug sales, scales, dust masks and $9,531 in cash, police officials said.
