June 22. 2018 9:29PM

GOFFSTOWN — Utility crews and first responders came to the scene of a one-car accident in Goffstown Friday night that had knocked out power to some residences, according to police officials.

The accident happened just prior to 8 p.m.

The driver, a 16-year-old male, was brought to an area hospital as a precaution after the crash, but his injuries were not considered life-threatening, officials said.

He was driving a car on Pleasant Street when he left the right side of the road, striking a pole and shearing off the top of a fire hydrant, officials said. The car came to rest after the crash in a homeowner’s driveway at 32 Pleasant St. according to witnesses.

Eversource was working to restore power in the area and expected full service to be back in place fairly quickly.

Crews were expected to remain in the area for some time through the night, officials said.
