BRENTWOOD - The driver of a car that veered off Route 125 last weekend and struck a utility pole that closed a section of highway for several hours has died, police said.

Christine Miaskiewicz, 69, of Haverhill, Mass., died Friday at Exeter Hospital as a result of the injuries she suffered in the crash on Nov. 11.

Her passenger, identified as Carolyn Kelleher, 77, also of Haverhill, Mass., also suffered serious injuries in the crash and was hospitalized at Exeter Hospital but then was later airlifted to a Boston hospital, police said.

Kelleher’s condition wasn’t known Friday night.

Police have said they believe a medical condition led to the accident that was reported just after 5 p.m.

Police initially received a report of a reckless driver on Route 125 before the 2011 Hyundai Sonata went off the highway, struck a piece of construction equipment, and then hit the utility pole, snapping it in half, in the area of 313 Route 125.

Traffic was rerouted on a stretch of highway for several hours while crews from Eversource repaired the damaged lines.
