Brentwood hiker hurt descending Mt. Major

ALTON — A 48-year-old Brentwood woman was carried off Mount Major Tuesday after injuring her ankle, according to Fish and Game officials.

Robin Heim had hiked to the summit of the mountain, and was descending about 2 p.m. when she severely injured her ankle about one mile from the trailhead, officials said.

Alton and Gilmanton Fire Departments responded, along with Fish and Game.

She was carried about a half mile to an ATV and driven the rest of the way to the trailhead about 4 p.m.
