HOOKSETT — A 30-year-old Allenstown man faces drunken-driving charges after Hooksett police officials said he drove off the road, struck a road sign and tried to keep driving early Saturday morning.
Michael Bruce was arrested after he registered .15 on a blood alcohol test, which is nearly twice the legal limit of .08, officials said.
He faces an Aug. 30 arraignment in 6th Circuit Hooksett Division Court on charges of operating under the influence.
Officer Kevin Laliberte responded at 12:49 a.m. Saturday to the area of Main and Merrimack streets to find a one-car accident involving a 2004 Toyota Corolla.
A witness told Laliberte he saw the Toyota leave the road and hit a sign before the operator tried to continue driving the car.
Laliberte caught up with Bruce and took him into custody without further incident, officials said.
